FAQ
1) What is ADHD and neurodiversity coaching?
Where coaching touches on ADHD, executive functioning, or neurodiversity, the focus is practical strategies, strengths, and goals - not diagnosis or clinical assessment. If you haven’t received a formal diagnosis but suspect you may be neurodivergent, coaching can be supportive, but it isn’t a substitute for professional assessment.
2) Is coaching the same as therapy?
No. Coaching is educational and goal-focused support and isn’t a substitute for medical or therapeutic care.
3) What happens on a discovery call?
The discovery call helps clarify what you’re dealing with, what you want to change, and whether coaching is the right fit.
4) What’s the length of each session?
Sessions are 45 minutes and begin and end at the agreed time. If you join late, the session still ends at the scheduled time and missed time isn’t carried over.
5) How do sessions run (online format)?
Sessions are delivered online via video call. You’ll receive a link in your booking confirmation. A reliable internet connection and a private, comfortable space are recommended.
6) Do you offer single sessions or packages?
Both. Exhale Coaching offers single sessions and packages of five sessions. Package sessions are intended for use within an agreed timeframe (not open-ended), which I’ll confirm at the start.
7) Do I need to prepare for sessions?
There’s no formal preparation required - however, arriving with a few minutes of thought on what you want to focus on can help. You’ll also receive an outline of outcomes after each session.
8) Is there support between sessions?
Where mutually agreed, light-touch between-session accountability check-ins may be available (e.g., email/SMS or an agreed messaging tool). It’s brief and supportive - not a substitute for a full session and not crisis support.
If you’re in crisis or need urgent support between sessions, contact your GP, a mental health service, or a crisis helpline. (Ireland: Samaritans 116 123, free and 24 hours.)
9) Is confidentiality guaranteed?
Yes. I will not share information with third parties without your consent, except where:
-
there are serious concerns you or someone else is at risk of significant harm, and/or
-
Clare is legally required to disclose information (e.g., court order).
Where safe and appropriate, these situations will be discussed with you before action.
I may discuss anonymised aspects of my coaching with a supervisor/mentor coach, with no sharing of identifying details.
10) How long are session notes kept?
Brief session notes are stored securely in line with the Privacy Policy and retained for 7 years from the end of engagement, in line with Irish data protection best practice.
11) What’s your cancellation policy?
Summarised:
-
48+ hours notice: full refund
-
12–48 hours notice: credit to rebook
-
<12 hours notice: session forfeited
-
No-shows: treated as late cancellations
-
Package cancellations mid-plan: prorata refund for unused sessions
That said - I want you to avoid the ADHD tax that comes with forgetting appointments, running late or booking impulsively. I get it! I will always send reminders and do my best to work with you.
12) What should I read before booking?
